April 2012

There was alot of family fun to be had in April.  There was more baseball and softball...lots more baseball and softball...and several short trips. 

Spring break was the first week of April so we took off to my sister's house in Greenville for a few days.  We made a trip to the local zoo, walked around downtown, spent an evening watching the Greenville Drive and spent one afternoon exploring the beautiful Jones Gap State Park.

The next week and weekend brought on more baseball and a trip to Blairsville, GA.  Derick did such a great job again and we so proud of him for working so hard this season as baseball.

Towards the middle and end of the month, I took a trip to Herndon, VA to receive some training.  We also got to spend an afternoon watching the Blue Angels at the airshow this year. 

March 2012

March started out with a trip to Destin, Florida with two great friends to run the Seaside School Half Marathon.  The weather was terrible the first couple of days....it as like a monsoon.  Race day the weather couldn't have been more perfect. 

Also March brought the start of softball and baseball rec seasons.  Also, Isabel started playing for the Chain Lynx 10U travel softball team.  Both Derick and Isabel worked hard at practice and gave it all they had on the field.  Isabel got to play 3rd base on her Little League team and Derick played outfield on his Upward baseball team.  Derick also showed and interest in pitching and started working hard in hopes of getting an opportunity to pitch this season.  Collin was such a trooper.  He loves going to ballpark and shows an interest in baseball too. 

Towards the end of this month I ran the Cherry Blossom 10K with my running friends.  It was long 6 miles in the humidity that morning but it was such a beautiful route.  I can't wait to run that race again next year.

February 2012

Isabel went to the Father Daughter Dance with her dad this month.  She is growing into such a beautiful young lady and I am so proud to be her mom.  Isabel also had little league tryouts for softball this month as well as continuing to practice with her travel softball team.  It is going to be a busy spring with her playing on two teams and Derick playing Upward baseball.  With all the activities going on we were lucky to have had some unseasonable warm weather which was really nice.

Unfortunately my training took a bit of hit when I had to have an unexpected minor surgery.  The surgery was a success and I recovered without any complications and was lucky enough to find out at the end of the month that I could still participate in the Seaside School Half Marathon.

January 2012

January was a busy a month.  We finally closed on our new home and got moved it.  We were all so excited to get out of the apartment and have some space.  Isabel was selling girl scout cookies which really means I was selling girl scout cookies.  I was also running alot trying to get ready for the Seaside School Half Marathon in March.
